Indian Premier League began way back in 2008. IPL was the trend setter for all the other Asian Countries to begin a T20 Premier League which is now one of the best T20 tournaments in world cricket. IPL winners list revolved around 6 different teams who had named in IPL champions list multiple times.

List of IPL winners teams have six names in it. The most successful team in the list of IPL winners is Mumbai Indians followed by Chennai Super Kings who also have its name multiple times in IPL winners list.

IPL 2023 Winner

The Chennai Super Kings won their 5 title in IPL history when they beat Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets (DLS method) in IPL 2023 final.

CSK’s Devon Conway’s knock of 47 runs in the chase made him the Player of the Match in final, he was also top scorer for CSK with 672 runs at strike rate of 139. Deshpandey was pick pf the bowlers with 21 wkts for CSK.

Throughout the season, Ravindra Jadeja’s shown both with bat and ball by scoring 190 crucial runs and taking 20 wickets for CSK.

Gujrat Titans Shubman Gill amassed a staggering 890 runs in 17 matches, the highest of the season, at an impressive average of 59.33 and a strike rate of 157.80 made him player of the tournament.

IPL 2022 Winner

The 2022 IPL season won by the debutant team, Gujarat Titans. The Hardik Pandya-led Titans dominated the tournament, defeating Rajasthan Royals in the final by 7 wickets.

For the Gujarat Titans, captain Hardik Pandya led from the front and scored 446 runs and along with 8 wickets, whereas Rashid Khan proved instrumental with the ball and took 20 wickets and end the tournament as leading wicket-taker for Titans.

Jos Buttler of Rajasthan Royals emerged as the player of the tournament, amassing a staggering 863 runs with an impressive strike rate 149 with 4 centuries.

IPL 2021 Champions

IPL current champion is Chennai Super Kings. Under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni  Chennai had it 4th IPL title when they defeated Kolkatta Knight Riders in the final.

The star of the final was Faf du Plessis who scored 86(59) to power Chennai to a huge score of 192. Then the bowlers did the remaining job. Faf was awarded Man of the match in the final.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis were the best batsmen for Chennai that year, with both scoring over 600 runs. Shardul Thakur was Chennai’s best bowler with 21 wickets as they played their part in making CSK IPL once again.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Harshall Patel got the Man of the Tournament award for picking up 32 wickets in 15 games.

IPL 2020 Champions

Mumbai Indians was the IPL 2020 winner. This was their 5th IPL title and most by any IPL team. Mumbai Indians and Delhi are the IPL finalist teams in 2020 edition. It was a comfortable five-wicket win for Mumbai in the final.

They won this edition under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Trent Boult’s 3/30 allowed Mumbai to restricted Delhi to a low score and then there batsmen did the rest of the job. Boult was awarded Man of the Match in the final.

Ishan Kishan was the best batsman for Mumbai Indians with 516 runs in the tournament. With 27 wickets in the event, Jasprit Bumrah was the best bowler for Mumbai Indians and their team an IPL cup winner..

With 20 wickets and 113 runs in the event, Rajasthan Royals’ Jofra Archer was named Man of the Tournament of IPL 2020.

2019 IPL Winners

IPL 2019 winner was Mumbai Indians. This was one of the most exciting and thrilling final in IPL History. Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by just one run in the final. Mumbai Indians won this event under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. Batting first, Mumbai posted a total of 149 thanks to a 41 run innings by Kieron Pollard. Chennai failed to chase the target and were restricted to 148 thanks to 2/14 by Jasprit Bumrah.

Bumrah was named Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling however With 510 runs and 11 wickets, Andre Rusell of Kolkatta Knight Riders was named Man of the tournament in IPL 2019.

Two players led from the front to put MI name in IPL winning team list. Quinton De Kock was the best batsman of Mumbai Indians this year with 529 runs in the tournament. Jasprit Bumrah took 19 wickets and was the best bowler for Mumbai Indias..

IPL 2018 Champions

Chennai Super Kings was crowned as IPL 2018 champion. CSk and SRH are IPL finalists during 2018 edition of IPL. Although Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a big score 178, Chennai made it look ridiculously easy thanks to an unbeaten Hundred by Shane Watson.

Watson was named Man of the Match in the final for his 117(57)*. Sunil Narine was named Man of the tournament for scoring 357 runs and 17 wickets in the event.

Chennai won this event under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. Ambati Rayudu with 602 runs topped the batting charts for Chennai Super Kings in this season, while with 16 wickets Shardul Thakur was their best bowler to have their teams as IPL trophy winners.

IPL 2017 Champions

IPL 2017 winners were Mumbai Indians who won this edition of IPL by defeating Rising Pune Supergiants by just one run in the final. This was a low-scoring yet entertaining final. Even after scoring just 129 in the final, Mumbai Indians still defended the score.

For scoring 47(38), Krunal Pandya was named Man of the Match in the final. With 316 runs and 12 wickets, Ben Stokes was named Man of the tournament in IPL 2017.

Rohit Sharma was the captain of Mumbai Indians this season. Parthiv Patel scored 395 runs for Mumbai Indians, while Jasprit Bumrah took 20 wickets for them and topped the respective individual performances charts.

IPL 2016 Champions

List of IPL champions had a new name in 2016 asSunrisers Hyderabad clinched their first ever IPL title by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final. This was a close final. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a total of 208 while RCB fell short of just 8 runs.

For scoring 39(15)* and taking 2/35, Ben Cutting was named Man of the Match in the final. Virat Kohli was named Man of the tournament for scoring 973 runs in the tournament.

Sunrisers Hyderabad won this event under the leadership of David Warner who scored 848 runs and was the best batsman of the tournament for Sunrisers Hyderbad, while with 23 wickets Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the best bowler of the entire tournament.

This is Hyderabad’s only title in the IPL so far and they didn’t have their name featured amongst the IPL winning teams.

Winner of 2015

It was another title win for Mumbai Indians as they claimed IPL title in 2015. They defeated Chennai Super Kings in the final in a one-sided contest. Mumbai posted a total of 202 and in response Chennai could only score 161 thanks to great bowling by Mitchell McCLenaghan, Lasith Malinga and Harbhajan Singh.

For scoring 50(26), Rohit Sharma was named Man of the Match in the final. With 326 runs and 14 wickets in the event, Andre Rusell was named Man of the Tournament in IPL 2015.

Rohit Sharma was the IPL winning captain this year. With 24 wickets in the tournament, Lasith Malinga was the best bowler for Mumbai Indians in 2015 IPL. Lendl Simmons scored 540 runs and became the best batsman for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2015.

IPL 2014 Champions

2014 IPL champion Kolkatta Knight Riders won their second IPL trophy. They won it under the captaincy of Gautam Gambhir. The final was a close affair between Kolkatta Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab. KXIP gave a target of 200 to KKR which they chased in the final over.

Manish Pandey was the Man of the Match in the final who scored 94 in the final and helped KKR chase the target. Kings XI Punjab’s Glenn Maxwell was awarded Man of the tournament for scoring 552 runs throughout the tournament but couldn’t have his team name as IPL winner on the list.

With 660 runs in the event, Robin Uthappa was the best batsman of Kolkatta Knight Riders and also the entire tournament. Sunil Narine took 21 wickets and became the MVP for Kolkatta Knight Riders with the ball in IPL 2014.

IPL 2014 Champions

Mumbai Indians have their first IPL tile in 2013 when they defeated Chennai Super Kings by 23 runs in the final of 2013 IPL final. Kieron Pollard’s half century guided Mumbai Indians to a total of 149, and 2 wickets each by Malinga, Harbhajan Singh and Mitchell Johnson allowed Mumbai to defend the score successfully.

Harbhajan Singh and Mitchell Johnson took 24 wickets each and were the best bowlers for Mumbai Indians. With 538 runs, Rohit Sharma was the best batsman for Mumbai in IPL 2013. With 543 runs and 13 wickets, Shane Watson was awarded Player of the Tournament.

IPL Winners 2012

This was an epic clash between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkatta Knight Riders in the IPL final in 2012 to decide the new IPL champion. Chennai set a target of 191 to KKR, which they chased in the last over. Manvinder Bisla scored 89(48) and won his side the IPL title and also named as man of the match award.

Skipper Gautam Gambhir scored 590 runs and was the best batsman of Kolkatta Knight Riders that year. Sunil Narine topped the bowling charts for KKR with 24 wickets. Narine was also named man of the tournament by playing an important part in making his side an IPL champion.

IPL 2011 Champions

Chennai Super Kings became the 2011 IPL champion by thrashing Royal Challengers Bangalore in a one-sided contest and defended their title successfully. This was Chennai’s second IPL title win and it came under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

Murali Vijay scored 95 in the final for CSK and won the man of the match in the final. Chris Gayle was named man of the tournament for scoring 608 runs.

Ravichandran Ashwin took 20 wickets this year and was Chennai’s best bowler. With 492 runs, Mr. Cricket Michael Hussey was the best CSK batsman this year.

IPL 2010 Champions

This season of IPL was won by Chennai Super Kings and it came under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. This was Chennai’s first IPL Trophy win. Chennai defeated Mumbai Indians in the final by 22 runs.

Suresh Raina was named man of the match for scoring 57 runs in the final. Sachin Tendulkar got the Man of the Tournament with 618 runs throughout the tournament.

Suresh Raina was also the best batsman of Chennai Super Kings in the entire season with 520 runs while Muttiah Muralitharan topped the bowling chart for CSK with 15 wickets in the tournament.

2009 IPL Winners

Deccan Chargers won their first and only IPL title in 2009 when they have their name in list of IPL winners. This was a close final as Royal Challengers Bangalore fell short by just 6 runs.

Despite being on the losing side, Anil Kumble was named Man of the Match in the final for picking up 4/16.  Pragyan Ojha was the top performer for Deccan Chargers in the final with his 3/28.

Adam Gilchrist was the captain of Deccan Chargers in 2009.  RP Singh picked 23 wickets and was the best bowler of Deccan Chargers in 2009 IPL. With 495 runs in IPL 2009, Adam Gilchrist was the best batsman of Deccan Chargers and was also named Man of the tournament.

IPL Winners of 2008

IPL inaugural champion was Rajasthan Royals and become the first team to have their name in list of winner of IPL. RR won the first ever edition of Indian Premier League under the captaincy of Shane Warne. This was a very thrilling final with Rajasthan winning on the final ball. Yousuf Pathan’s 56(39) allowed Rajasthan to complete a successful run chase of 164 runs. Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings in the final.

Apart from his fifty, Yousuf also took 3 wickets with the ball was named man of the match in the final. With 17 wickets and 472 runs, Shane Watson was named man of the tournament of IPL 2008. Watson was the top run getter for Rajasthan Royals while Sohail Tanvir took 22 wickets and not only he was the best bowler for Rajasthan but he also topped the bowling charts during first edition of IPL.
