Sydney Thunders 2023-24 – Squad, Fixtures, Captain

Sydney Thunders were the champions of BBL 2015. That was the only occasion when Sydney Thunder appeared in the final and came out victorious as well. Afterwards, they have failed to repeat what they did in 2015 however Sydney Thunder would hope that their fate changes this time.

Sydney Thunders team comprises local Australian talent who have also represented at international level whereas  all Overseas players in Sydney Thunders  are from England. Overall an exciting unit who can revive the fortunes of their team this year.

Sydney Thunder Batsmen 2023-24

Sydney Thunder have a strong looking batting lineup. They have one of the finest opening pairs in T20 Cricket in the form of England’s Alex Hales and David Warner. Hales is a reputable T20 Batsman, while Warner t20 exploits are also not hidden. They also have the support of South Africa Rilee Rossouw who is in form of his life.

To support these 2 mega stars they have got Alex Ross and Jason Sangha. Ross has great numbers in T20 Cricket while Jason Sangha is a potential talent. Oliver Davies is also their for support of all those big names.

Sydney Thunder All-Rounders 2023-24

Sydney Thunder have a talented bunch of All-Rounders in their squad. They have a balanced set of all-rounders with 2 Pace Bowling all-rounders and a Spin Bowling all-rounders. Ben Cutting is the biggest star of the all-rounders pool of Sydney Thunders who also plays for in PSL as overseas player.

Daniel Sams is similar to Ben Cutting with the bat, while he is a genuine wicket taking option with the ball as well. Chris Green is another big name in this unit who has made a good reputation lately in T20 Leagues. Oliver Davies is an emerging talent who is also a part of this all-rounders pool.

Sydney Thunder Fast Bowlers 2023-24

Nathan McAndrew and Brendan Doggett are supposed to play the supporting role as both of them haven’t got anything extra-ordinary on their T20 Resume as yet. Overall it looks a balanced pace attack, but not the best to Chris Tremain and Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqi.

Both of these pacers have a fairly good record in T20 Cricket. Gurinder Sandhu is probably the 3^rd pace bowling option for Sydney Thunder.

Sydney Thunder Fats Bowlers List: Liam Hatcher, Nathan McAndrew, Zaman Khan & Gurinder Sandhu

Sydney Thunder Spinners 2023-24

Tanveer Sangha and Usman Qadir are the two specialized spin bowlers in this lineup. Both are leg spinners are relatively new in T20 Cricket, but both of them have shown promise and their early stats are a proof of it. This spin attack could be very threatening and the oppositions shouldn’t take this emerging spin duo lightly in any case.

Sydney Thunder Overseas Players 2023-24

Sydney Thunder Foreign Players List consists of 2 Players. One emerging fast bowler from Pakistan Zaman Khan who is fast pace and round arm action make him perfect fit for shortest format. Other one is seasoned Englishmen Alex Hales who recently retired from international cricket to pursue career in franchise leagues.
