Strengths and Weakness
Just before the start of the tournament India lost Ravindra Jadeja which provide three dimensional support to Indian team with his bowling, batting and fielding. Things getting worse when Indian pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah also ruled out of the tournamnet,
India’s batting strength is second to none in T20 format. Likes of Rohit, Rahul, Kohli and Surya Kumar at top while finishers in the form of Pant, Dinesh Karthik and Pandya makes them one of the deadliest batting combinations in the world currently.
Pakistan pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi who was out because of injury during Asia Cup 2022 is back and his opening spell against Afghanistan practice game suggest that he is back in full rhythm too,
Haris Rauf who has most wickets for Pakistan since his debut in T20I is one of the dark horses of fast bowling with young Naseem Shah who is nippy and can swing the new ball. Shadab Khan will be handling the spin department with Mohammad Nawaz who is Pakistan’s preferred choice because of his batting ability.
World # 1 batter in T20 format Babar Azam will lead the batting forte and his performance will decide the fate of the match for Pakistan. Haider Ali also needs to fire at top with Shadab Khan has been emerged as a finisher for Pakistan in batting department.
Expected Playing 11
Big call for India is to play Mohammad Shami was was brutal in practice game but he went for more than 11 runs per over during the last T20 world cup against the same opposition. Also keeping in mind Australian conditions it is to be seen whether India went in with extra pacer they prefer Chahal.
