Former Australian Batsman Matthew Hayden and South African fast bowler Vernon Philander has been appointed as Pakistan coach for T20 World Cup. Both has been appointed as Head COach and bowling coach respectively. ICC T20 World cup scheduled to start from October 17, 2021.

This is one of the major decision taken by new PCB management heading by Ramiz Raja who is officially elected as PCB chairman earlier today.

Interesting to know that former head coach Misbah ul Haq and bowling Waqar Younis resigned from their position just before Ramiz Raja officially taken over the reins of Pakistan Cricket Board.

Matthew Hayden who was one of the most dominant batsman of his time and was one of the most important members of Australian side that conquer the world in 2000’s. He scored more than 15,00 international runs for Australia batting at top of the order in 273 appearances in all formats.

Hayden also broke the world record of Brian Lara’s most test runs in an innings when he scored 380 against Zimbabwe at Perth in 2003 before Lara battered it with 400 notout against England.

On the other hand, South Africa’s Vernon Philander who retired last year from International cricket I January 2020 accumulated 269 international wickets in 101 appearances while repressing Protease at top level.

Both Hayden and Philander did not have much coaching experience to support their appointments but with so many chopping and changes in Pakistan cricket it is not new for fans in who are following Pakistan cricket to see such surprising decisions.

With not much time left in ICC T20 world cup newly appointed Pakistan Coach for T20 World cup must need to bring their magic wand in order to have their lasting impression on Pakistan cricket team but skills and game awareness of both Hayden and Philander are unmatched.

Hoping that these two cricketers will not only enhance their reputations as coaches but also uplift the dipping graph of Pakistan cricket at international level.
