BCCI once take the lead on other cricket boards when they announce first of its kind T20 premier league for womens yes we are talking about Womens Premier League. A branch of men’s IPL which is one of the best T20 leagues BCCI announced 2023 Womens Premier League schedule.
As per the announced schedule of WPL 2023 tournament will start from March 04, 2023. In the inaugural event WPL will have 5 franchises which will battle it out for the title.
WPL 2023 Format
Womens Premier League 2023 edition will take place on round robin basis where each team will play twice against the other team. That will make 10 league matches for each side.
Top team will qualify for the finals whereas 2nd and 3rd places team will play a eliminator to play the final. Final of WPL 2023 will take place on March 26, 2023.
Five teams participating in 1st edition of WPL 2023 are:

- Royal Challengers Bangalore Women
- Gujarat Giants Women
- Delhi Capitals Women
- UP Warriors Women

Total of 22 matches will take place as per announced time table of WIPL 2023 in 18-day event. 2023 WPL fixtures will have 4 double headers when two matches will take place in a day.
