South African Players in St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots for CPL 2024
Tristan Stubbs and Rilee Rossouw will feature for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots this year. Stubbs was initially picked by the franchise but he didn’t play any game in CPL 2023. In a short span of his career, Stubbs has been a high in demand batter thanks to his monstrous T20 strike rate of 150+. Stubbs had scores of 40,28 and 76 in the T20I series against West Indies recently.
Rilee Rossouw was a part of Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL 2023. However, he also like Stubbs didn’t play any game. Rilee Rossouw is closing in on 9000 T20 runs soon. Rilee Rossouw made headlines back in July when he scored a hundred in the final of Lanka Premier League 2024.
Guyana Amazon Warriors South African Players for CPL 2024
Guyana Amazon Warriors have Imran Tahir and Dwaine Pretorious in their squad. Both the players will go down as the greatest foreign players in the franchise’s history. Imran Tahir became the first ever captain of the Amazon Warriors to win the CPL title. Meanwhile Pretorious was MOTM in the final last year for GAW.
Pretorious finished as the highest wicket taker of CPL 2023 while his captain Imran Tahir was the second highest wicket taker and of course the winning captain. Pretorious played well in GT20 Canada where he was amongst the wicket takers and alos had good economy rate.
Imran Tahir was seen in World Championship of Legends. He didn’t do anything significant in that league. Imran Tahir will continue to lead the Amazon Warriors this year as well.
South African Cricketers in St. Lucia Kings for CPL 2024
Veteran South African batter, Faf du Plessis is a part of St. Lucia Kings for CPL 2024. Faf was retained by St. Lucia Kings. He played only 4 games last year but managed to score 113 runs. Du Plessis had a remarkable Major League Cricket season as well this year in the USA piling up runs for fun.
Except Faf, the beast and star of World T20 2024 for South Africa, Heinrich Klaasen will also play for St. Lucia Kings. Klaasen has previously played for Guyana Amazon Warriors in the CPL but he has a new franchise now. After the World T20 Klaasen played in the Major League Cricket but he only managed one half century in 7 games.
South African Stars in Barbados Royals for CPL 2024
Barbados Royals have the highest number of South African Players in CPL 2024. David Miller, Keshav Maharaj and Quinton de Kock are part of the Royals this year. All 3 South African Stars are new recruits in this team for CPL 2024.
None of these 3 players played CPL 2023. Miller made headlines during the final of World T20 2024, but after that he played Major League Cricket and the T20I series against West Indies but looked a bit off. He did play few good knocks but wasn’t consistent.
Maharaj was last seen playing the Test Series against West Indies where he took 13 wickets in 2 test matches. With over 10000 runs, Quinton De Kock remains one of the biggest names in franchise cricket right now. De kock had a decent time in Major League Cricket 2024.
