Santner to Lead New Zealand in T20Is against India


Left arm spinner Santner to Lead New Zealand in T20Is against India as per the squad revealed by New Zealand cricket board. New Zealand tour of India consist of 3 match ODI series and as many T20Is. In the ODIs, the Kiwis will be led by Tom Latham, while in the T20Is Santner will lead.

Santner to lead the squad in India T20I’s is because the Black Caps opted to rest regular captain Kane Williamson and test captain Tim Southee on this tour.

Mitchell Santner has an amazing captaincy record. He has the best win percentage amongst the New Zealand skippers who have led in at least 10 T20I matches. He has led New Zealand in 10 T20Is, winning 8 and losing only one (while one ended as No Result). He has 88%-win ratio as a captain in T20Is, which prove his leadership capability.

Ben Lister is a potential talent who has earned his maiden call-up to the national side for the very first time. New Zealand will be without Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne and Matt Henry on this tour, which will be another challenge for skipper Mitchell Santner.
