England’s young spin sensation Rehan Ahmed becomes Youngest to take 5 wicket Haul on Test Debut.

The Test series between Pakistan and England was already a historical one as England were playing in Pakistan after 17 years. Abrar Ahmed’s 7-Wicket Haul on debut made the series even more historical and if that wasn’t enough, young spinner of England Rehan Ahmed decided to make this series even more special.

In the 3rd Test at National Bank Cricket Arena of Karachi, Rehan Ahmed took a fifer in the 2nd innings to bowl out Pakistan for just 216. Rehan’s fifer was not ordinary, it was his debut game in which he recorded this fifer. Rehan Ahmed becomes Youngest to take 5 wicket Haul on Test Debut.

Rehan is currently 18 years and 126 days old, he overtook Pat Cummins who took a five wicket haul on his debut at the age of just 18 years and 193 days. Rehan Ahmed took 5/48 in the 2nd innings of the final test between England and Pakistan. Overall he has taken 7 wickets in this Test match.

It is interesting to note that Rehan Ahmed was not even in the original squad that was announced for the Pakistan tour, however, he was with the England Lions who were practicing with England Team in UAE prior to this tour.

Coming into this Test Match, the young leggie only had an experience of 3 First Class matches and he only had one First Class five wicket haul to his name. He dismissed Pakistan’s skipper Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, Agha Salman and Mohammad Wasim Jnr, to complete his 5-wicket haul. This was quite remarkable as Saud, Babar and Agha Salman were in great form in Test Cricket lately.

Not only did Rehan become the new record-holder, he also helped England to nearly complete a whitewash over Pakistan in the Test Series as England only need 55 runs to win the Test with 2 days and 8 wickets remaining.
