Analysis of Ireland WT20 Squad 2022
Balbirnie will be seen opening the innings along with Ireland’s most successful T20I Batter Paul Stirling. Both the batters have scored over 400 runs in T20I cricket this year and are in good form. Stephen Dohenny is the backup choice opener in this lineup.
Lorcan Tucker bats at 3 for Ireland in T20Is, and he has run under his belt this year; however; he has problems converting those into big innings. Irish middle order comprises Harry Tector, Gareth Delany, Curtis Campher and George Dockrell. The middle order is weak, as only Tector and Dockrell have scored runs consistently while others have struggled.
Ireland’s pace attack looks good. The pace attack comprises Joshua Little, Craig Young and Mark Adair. All these pacers have been phenomenal this year, especially Craig Young. Barry McCarthy and Connor Olphert are the backup choice pacers on the Irish Side. Fionn Hand is another potential pace-bowling all-rounder who has not played much at the big level for Ireland yet.
George Dockrell and Simi Singh, the two all-rounders, will be the lead spinners for Ireland. Dockrell is highly accurate with his line and length and can keep the economy rate in control, while Simi Singh has been good with taking wickets.
