New Zealand Batters

In World T20 2022, New Zealand’s opening pair will be Finn Allen and Devon Conway. Both of them have scored good runs this year in T20I cricket. Martin Guptill’s bat is not exploding many runs in T20I cricket recently. Hence he is a backup choice.

The top and middle order of New Zealand comprises Glenn Phillips, Kane Williamson, Daryl Mitchell and Mark Chapman. Except for Kane, all other batters have done very well in T20I cricket this year. Especially Glenn Phillips has consistently managed to strike the ball at a strike rate of more than 200 in the recently concluded tri-series.

In the lower middle order finishing role on the side is given to James Neesham and Michael Bracewell. Both of them can strike cleanly and are likely to play as they can bowl too.

New Zealand Bowlers

Trent Boult, Adam Milne, Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson are the pacers in the Kiwi Squad. Milne is supposed to be the backup choice, while the other 3 are most likely to play. It’s a good mix of experience and young blood; they all have been in good rhythm this year.

The Spin attack of New Zealand is quite dangerous too. Mitchell Santner has been phenomenal this year and will look to carry this form in the World T20 2022. Ish Sodhi somehow lost his form before the WT20 and but Michael Bracewell emerged as another good spin option for the Kiwis off late.

Along with South Africa, New Zealand is the only other top side not to have their name in the world cup winners table. Except for winning the title Australia once reached the finals and ended as runners-up and as a semi-finalist once too. On all other occasions, they never crossed the round phase of the event.
