After an excellent power show by India during 1st ODI which they tame the host England and won by 10 wickets. England reversed the fortunes in 2nd ODI and gave a clinical performance and level the series. Now its all down to final match of the series to decide the winner between the two top teams in world cricket now a days.
India pace bowling unit led by Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami , whereas England Reece Topely registered best bowling figures in ODI for an Englishmen in ODI history. So its between the two bowling attacks rather between the batters.
It would have been last chance for Kohli to show some glimpses of his batting as he has been dropped already from India’s next series. India would maintain same line-up but still there is a chance if they can replace Pradish Krishna with Shardul Thakur.
Expected India Playing XI: Rohit Sharma (CAP), Shikhar Dhawan, Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, R Jadeja, P Krishna, Mohammad Shami, Y Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah.
England will also look to keep the winning line-up intact and doesn’t want to bring any new faces. Jason Roy and Joe Root failed in the two opening games and its their chance to play their part if England wants to win the series.
Expected England Playing XI: Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Liam Livingstone , Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler (CAP), Moeen Ali, David Willey, Brydon Carse, Matt Parkinson and Reece Topley.
India vs England ODI Head to Head Record
Both sides have played 105 ODI matches against each other. India dominate the battle with 56 wins while England have won 434 games. 2 matches finished as tie and 3 ended as No Result. The last time these 2 teams met in an ODI series was in March 2021 in India, where India won the 3 match series 2-1.
Players to Watch-Out for
India: India is heavily reliant on their top order and same will be the case in this series. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan will be the first danger for England in this series. Suryakumar Yadav scored a phenomenal hundred in the final T20I and almost saved India from the defeat, his form and his class will be a treat to watch for the Indian fans. Hardik Pandya is also in form with both bat and ball, he will be a big threat to England as well.
England: Jonny Bairstow has already scored 994 Test runs this year. His playing style is the same as one plays in ODIs, so he being in form is a warning sign for India. Joe Root and Ben Stokes were also phenomenal in the 5th Test against India and if they continue the same form in the ODI series as well, it could be curtains for India.
