Mohammad Ashraful is the Youngest Player to score century on test debut

Bangladesh Mohammad Ashraful who once emerged as one of the great talents provided by Bangladesh is the youngest player to score test century on debut.

He achieved that feat vs. Sri Lanka in 2001 when he scored 114 runs of 212 balls in second innings of league match during Asian Test championship 2011. Mohammad Ashraful aged 17 year and 61 days when he rewritten the history books.


He broke the 40 year old record of Pakistan’s Mushtaq Mohammad and bettered this record just by 17 days.

In all Mohammad Ashraful represented Bangladesh in 61 test matches and scored close to 2700 test runs punctuated with 6 test hundreds and best of 190 runs.



His career progression comes to halt when he admitted his involvement in alleged match fixing and spot fixing in Bangladesh Premier League 2013 edition.
