New Zealand’s tour of Pakistan kicks off from 18th April 2024. The Kiwis will play 5 T20Is against Pakistan. The tour holds vital importance for both sides as 2024 is a T20 World Cup year. Following are the details of Pakistan vs New Zealand T20I Schedule:

The tour kicks off in Rawalpindi with the first 3 T20Is being played there. Then the focus shifts to the headquarters of Pakistan Cricket, Gaddafi Stadium Lahore where the final 2 T20Is will be played. The tour begins on 18th April 2024 and concludes on 27th April 2024.

Pakistan vs New Zealand T20I Squads

The Kiwi Cricket Team announced a second string squad for the tour of Pakistan. The reason was that their top tier players were busy playing the Indian Premier League. There are 8 major Kiwi Players in IPL 2024. The likes of Kane Williamson, Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway, Mitchell Santner, Trent Boult, Daryl Mitchell etc. are busy in IPL 2024.

In the absence of their major players, New Zealand will be led by Michael Bracewell in this series. Will O’Rourke and Tim Robinson are likely to make their T20I debuts on this tour. Apart from the players busy in IPL, Tom Latham is also not a part of this tour due to childbirth.

Pakistan named a 17-Men main squad with 5 non travelling reserves. The major highlights from the squads were the returns of Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim. Amir announced his retirement in 2020, and now he is returning in the green jersey after 4 years. Imad also had announced a pre-mature retirement in November 2023, which he has taken back now. Haris Rauf missed out from the squad as he did not recover completely from his shoulder injury of PSL. Mohammad Haris was axed from the squad as well as from the reserves.

Babar Azam (c), Abrar Ahmed, Azam Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Abbas Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Amir, Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Afridi, Usama Mir, Usman Khan, Zaman Khan.

Reserves (non-travelling): Haseebullah Khan (WK), Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Ali Agha.
