The Kiwi side will be playing under a new Captain. Kane Williamson, who will lead the side in world cup 2023 is currently recovering from his knee injury, while Deputy Tom Latham is also resting at home, spending some quality time with family ahead of the world cup.

Lockie Ferguson is all set to be the Kiwi skipper for the very first time in his career. He led the side during tour matches in England. Mark Chapman and Jimmy Neesham are other key stars who miss out on this tour from the Kiwi side due to child-birth. New Zealand still have a good looking squad with the likes of Dean Foxcroft, and Cole McConchie.

Bangladesh rested Shakib-al-Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Hasan Mahmud, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz. All these players are first choice players of Bangladesh white ball team, and with them being rested, New Zealand can have the upper hand in this series.
