5 Unlucky Players not to get Picked for National T20 Cup

As Pakistan cricket board has announced teams for National T20 Cup cricket tournament which is schedule to get started from 25th August, 2016. A new drafting method has been used for team’s selection in National T20 tournament for the first time. Overall the team selection has been good but there are few players who are unjustly or unluckily not the part of any team which will be participating in national T20 Cup tournament.

Here we going to look at few of those faces who can be drafted in at expense of some players so that they can also get just reward of their hard work put in by them in past years:

Zia ul Haq

Left arm fast bowler Zia ul Haq is a pure product of Pakistan domestic cricket as he came through the ranks by representing Pakistan in U19’s. 22 year old quick have been the fringe player for Pakistan cricket from some time after his impressive bowling performances for first class team and in a tours. When you are opting for youngster and sideline a talent like Zia than few eyebrows needs to be raised on selection criteria. Zia has already taken 159, 82 & 30 wickets in first class, List A & T20 games respectively.

Mohammad Asif

One of the best swing bowlers that Pakistan had ever produced Mohammad Asif is still facing the heat of his bad deeds. He is the only player from that tainted trio of spot fixing saga that has not get the selectors attention despite putting up a good show since his comeback. With Mohammad Amir already playing for Pakistan and Salman Butt has also won the confidence of team management, Mohammad Asif should also be given a chance to rectify his mistakes that has hampered his career.

Mansoor Amjad

Mansoor Amjad who was once tipped for greater heights as he represented Pakistan in Under 19’s and then graduated to national team after putting up whole lots of efforts in domestic circuits for years and then in his lone T20 international match he captured 3 wickets in an over. He made a comeback to cricket last year after a gap of 2-3 years because of some tragedy at his home and made his mark by scoring 181 runs in 8 matches of departmental cup and also notched up 13 scalps with his leg spin bowling with a five wicket to his name. A place in any of the T20 side can made his return to the top level bit easier.

Ramiz Raja Jnr

Top run getter of Faysal bank T20 Cup 2011 edition Ramiz Raja junior is out of contention at an age of just 30 years. Ramiz Junior who has represented Pakistan in 2 T20 internationals after his stellar performance in shortest format of the game but somehow he was not able to fit in any of the sides for upcoming T20 cup. A man who was supposed to be specialist in shortest format of the game. If his game has deteriorated than selectors and coaching staff must need to find the reason of his downfall.

Sadaf Hussain

One of the curious cases of Pakistan cricket. If we look at his track record in domestic cricket than you can only wonder why this man has not played a single T20 match in his career. With bowling average of 19 runs per wicket both in first class cricket and List A matches. Just an an age of 27 Sadaf Hussain has picked up more than 300 first class wickets but never came in selector’s eyes.

Azeem Ghuman

Hails from Hyderabad, Azeem Ghumman another product of Pakistan’s U-19 setup. Captained Pakistan U-19 at world cup had a promising start to his first class career but somehow lost his way due to limited opportunities and now at the age of 26 he wasn’t able to get a place in domestic T20 sides.
