A major blow hit Pakistan’s world cup preparations when chief selectors Inzamam ul Haq revealed on Sunday that leg spinner Shadab Khan ruled out of upcoming Pakistan’s England tour due to illness.
As more details still to follow Shadab’s initial medical diagnosis shows a virus in his blood which needs rest of at least 4 weeks and his name has been immediately taken off from the list of players who will be taking part in England series. However Shadab will travel to England and will be consulting with doctors in England for speedy recovery.
Shadab Khan ruled out of England Tour card for Pakistan during meeting with Prime Minister by Imran Khan for Pakistan’s world cup campaign so far represented Pakistan in 5 test matches, 34 ODI’s and 37 T20I’s. Shadab who is improving as an all rounder has taken 47 ODI wickets and scored closed to 300 runs in one day internationals.
No replacement has been announced by PCB as yet for England tour. Pakistan selection committee announced Asif Ali and Mohammad Amir as reserved players but no spinner.
