Fourth edition of Pakistan Super League ended with all its glittering and glamour in the city of lights Karachi. A star studded show between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi on the field and likes of Jonty Rhodes, Danny Morrison and Ramiz Raja off the field in commentary box has made the final as an event to remember in Pakistan rich cricketing history.
After 31 days of electrifying display of cricketers around the globe we have made Pakistan Super League 11 season 4 comprising of best performers on the show.
Criclink team of the PSL season 4
Shane Watson (QG), Kamran Akmal (PZ), Ahmed Shahzad (QG), Colin Ingram (KK), Keiron Pollard (PZ), Sarfaraz Ahmed (cap/wk) (QG), Faheem Ashraf (IU), Hassan Ali (PZ), Sandeep Lamichane (LQ), Umer Khan (KK), Mohammad Hasnain (QG)
Two top scorers of the PSL 2019 edition Shane Watson and Kamran Akmal are our openers as they both played pivotal part in their teams progression to the finals of Pakistan Super League season 4. Watson scored 430 runs at a strike rate of 143.81 and Kamran Akmal scored 357 runs while striking the ball at 137.83 runs per 100 balls.
Ahmed Shahzad and Colin Ingram will be handling the 3rd & 4th position in criclink’s PSL 11. After slow start to the season Ahmed Shahzads bounce back well and scored more than 300 runs with an average of over 50 and strike rate of 126 runs per 100 balls.
Although Colin Ingram scored just 1 fifty and hundred in the competition but his strike rate of more than 160 runs per 100 balls prompted us to pick him in the middle order. Likes of Babar Azam and Liam Livingstone were the other strong contenders for middle order but Ingram’s striking ability helped him to win the spot.
Keiron Pollard has been selected as batting all rounder. Pollard hasn’t won any match single handedly but his small contributions earned him 284 runs in the tournament with strike rate of more than 173 runs per 100 balls. Asif Ali was another strong contender for this position but Pollard’s bowling ability which earned him 5 wickets in PSL 2019 giving him edge and also maintaining teams balance with an option of 6th bowler.
Faheem Ashraf have been chosen as bowling all rounder with his name in the second spot of most wickets list he has done well with the ball and also his 6 wicket haul was the best bowling figures of the season.
Captain & Wicket Keeper:
Winning captain Sarfaraz will led this criclink PSL 11 and also handling the fort behind the stumps. Sarfaraz didn’t have great PSL with the bat but hjis captaincy and leadership earned him this spot.
Young Pakistani sensation Umer Khan impressed all with left arm spin bowling, picking up 15 wickets in 11 matches and that too with the economy rate of just 7.11 made us select this youngster who is playing his first high profile tournament.
Sandeep Lamichane of Lahore Qalandars haven’t played as much matches as others due to early exit of Qalandars but still manage to impress all with his leg spin and googly bowling.
Hassan Ali topping the bowling charts with 25 wickets to his credit and that too with an economy rate of under 7 runs per over made our decision easier to nominate Hassan as leader of the attack.
To his support we have another young sensation Mohammad Hasnain who can easily be rated as find of the season and he also played important part in Quetta’s triumphant journey. Wahab Riaz was another strong contender but Hasnain’s ability to deliver goods at important times wins him the place.
Hopefully you agree with our selection of PSL 11. If not than please let us know what’s yours PSL11???
