Pakistan announced a full strength squad for the series. Pakistan is currently at 5th spot, while Bangladesh is at 8th spot in the ICC World Test Championship Table 2023-25.

Pakistan have named many of their senior players in the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the four-day matches and Bangladesh have done the same thing so that main guns get some practice before the actual test series.

Pakistan Test Squad vs Bangladesh 2024

Pakistan’s squad had a couple of surprises. Opener Imam-ul-Haq was sacked from the side while Saud Shakeel became the new Test VC with Shan Masood continuing as test captain. Muhammad Huraira was named in the squad and he is the most likely candidate to replace Imam for the opening spot.

Find of the Pakistan last test series against Australia all-rounder Jamal has been included but subject to fitness as his county stint was cut short because of it. Fast bowler Naseem Shah also back in whites after long time.

Bangladesh Test Squad vs Pakistan 2024

Bangladesh had two good news while announcing their test squad. Mushfiqur Rahim returned from thumb injury while Taskin Ahmed was finally back for the red ball series. Taskin had taken a break from red-ball cricket as he wanted to manage work load in order to fix his shoulder. Taskin Ahmed will only be available for selection in the second match.

Shakib-al-Hasan’s inclusion was doubtful. He was a member of Parliament of the former government of Bangladesh which was toppled recently. Shakib remained silent on the ongoing situation of Bangladesh, to which the fans were very furious with him. His performance will be monitored closely by the fans.
