26 year old Mir Hamza one of the names in Pakistan’s emerging crop of fast bowlers have got a new breakthrough in his career when Sussex signed him for 2019 county season earlier this year where Hamza was due to play 9 championship matches. But now Mir Hamza will be having an additional stint with Sussex as he will now be playing 11 County Championship matches and entire of the Royal London One Day Championship.
After his initial signing he was due to play his first Championship game in May 20, 2019 but with additional matches under his contract he will be playing his 1st championship game as early as April 05, 2019.
This county stint will play an important part in further development of this young left arm fast bowler who made his test debut for Pakistan against touring Australia late last year after his consistent bowling performances in domestic circuit where he has already taken 282 first class wickets at an outstanding bowling average of 18.34 runs per wicket in just 59 games at a strike rate of under 40 balls per wicket.
Although in bowling conditions which were more suited to spin bowling during his first test in Abu Dhabi he impressed all with his control and bowled Shaun Marsh with an outstanding delivery to open his wickets account in test cricket.
Now Mir Hamza needs to make this opportunity count while playing in County Championship and a good season may help him in bringing himself again in the contention for selection and selectors may consider him in upcoming season.
