Shocking news for Indian cricket surfaced today when 33 year old batsman Ambati Rayudu announced retirement from all forms of cricket. Rayudu represented India in 55 ODI’s and 6 T20I’s. Rayudu was one of the permanent fixtures of Indian batting line up since last 2 years before being astonishingly over looked by Indian selectors for World Cup 2019 squad.




After maintaining healthy batting average of 47 in ODI’s for India, more than few eyebrows were raised on his exclusion from the world cup squad. Though he was in standby players who could be inducted in Indian squad in case of injuries, but despite injuries to Shikar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar; Ambati Rayudu never get a call up as India chooses Rishabh Pant and Mayank Agarwal as replacement.

Disheartened Rayudu announced immediate retirement from all forms of cricket for India. Ambati Rayudu was always hails as great talent for India but he was always remains in the news for all good and bad reasons.



Rayudu international career was halted before starting when he joined banned Indian Cricket League but came back into international contention after getting amnesty from BCCI was made part of Indian team after re-establishing himself in domestic circuit.

With Indian middle order not firing all cylinders in World Cup Rayudu could get a chance in life after world cup but he decides to quit International cricket.
